One thing you will need to do for yourself is buy the domain name. There are lots of good places. I’ve been a fan of Porkbun and Namesilo. I don’t think there’s a huge difference for which registrar you use, but I like these because they offer WHOIS privacy and email forwarding at no extra charge on top of their already low prices. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
One domain I have had for over 20 years was originally purchased with GoDaddy. I then transferred to Google Domains when that opened up for supposedly better integration with Google Workspace. Now Google Domains is closing up and transferring to Squarespace but I just received an email that they do not support Dynamic DNS (DDNS) so now I'm looking to transfer my domain again. Check porkbun.com, namesilo.com, then namecheap.com. They offer most but not all TLDs but each offers a few the other doesn't. There are some that none of them offer so you can try GoDaddy but they're pricey. Those three are among your best bets for long term low pricing. Source: 5 months ago
218,691 registered domains. [1] $3M/month. M as in million, not mille [2]? Mille is still commonly used in accounting [3] $36M/year is $164.61 per registered domain per year. Porkbun [4] offer .ai $72.40/year. Even 3 letter domains don't seem to have premium pricing. Something in this unsourced tweet, literally, doesn't add up. BEST*: https://porkbun.com/ Personal opinion, this company was also new to me but a favorite to many others. This is also the second cheapest option at only a few cents more expensive than spaceship. They are known for having good support. Https://tld-list.com/registrars/porkbun/tlds. Source: 11 months ago
If a changing public IP is the problem, take a look at duckdns. Source: over 1 year ago
Why don't you use Dynamic-DNS like https://duckdns.org and have the pi send your IP to the DDNS with script automated to run every 30 mins in crontab. That way you don't need anything like what you talked about and your DDNS would update from the very same pi that you are running the pi on! Source: almost 3 years ago
