I have tried something like this before using obs ,i just used my phone and a usb c to hdmi cable to the capture device from phone to computer.i cant remember what I copied I just remember it was netflix and I had to start obs recording a few seconds before and after recording.i think I recorded in 1920x1080 and it worked fine.i only did it like once or twice since I discovered playon.tv .when I bought that... Have you looked at playon.tv it was a life saver for me when I wanted to download movies from my streaming sites I have a subscription too. It esentially just records the video in 720 or 1080 its a paid service but I find it works very well.so you might look at the other options to that have been listed here besides mine.i just wanted to add mine because it has really helped me. This appears to open Safari to playon.tv but the page is black. Closing the page or touching the back arrow takes me back to the Playon app. I don't see any way to cancel the plan. Anybody know what to do now? Source: almost 3 years ago
That definitely doesn't look like a standard movie site that playon.tv supports and they'd discontinued the screen capture portion of their app a few downgrades ago. You've got a ton of apps running, perhaps even several tabs within each open browser, have you tried recording with fewer apps running to see if this changes the recording quality? I use ipvanish on steamdeck for pirating movies and shows. I also use google https://remotedesktop.google.com/ to control my work computer without having to to go through windows l2tp vpn or cisco anyconnect. I help my mom all the time. She just bring up https://remotedesktop.google.com/ and then select the option to get help to generate a code. You just need to use chrome browser on another machine and enter the code. You should get a pop up asking for permission. Once approved you should be able to remotely control the Chromebook.
