In my experience, game dev is an extremely fulfilling hobby. In Unity, you can do a lot without coding, but there are also multiple engines whose whole gig is being predominantly visual. There are tools out there to accommodate all kinds of learners. Source: almost 3 years ago
It's not as monolithic as you'd think. There are lots of engines out there but their communities aren't very vocal compared to Unity, Unreal, and especially Godot's community.
