We managed to do it using OBS and a program running on my raspberry pi 3 called MistServer, as well as my audio mixer to mute the browser source on my end and a dynamic dns app. This all being said, the friend I was spitballing with was able to get a hold of a private beta build to help it work smoothly on the pi.
