Mastodon became popular in Japan after Twitter banned lolicon and Pixiv[1] decided to start its own Mastodon instance named Pawoo[2]. It had a mobile app and all[3]. Last year, Pixiv stopped supporting the mobile app and transferred the instance to Russel[4]. I haven't followed recently but it seems to be still quite active. For the prospecting, I've been playing around with it for a few days but it can definitely improve. Im targeting about 40-70k monthly visitors and for reaching them I use wappalyzer.com and target adsense users with mid level traffic according to them + I use sales nav to scrape the leads of people who have travel writer or food writer on their linkedin bio but the down side of that is you cant tell how big they are.
