Considering this project is backed by some big names, has a grant from the Web3 Foundation, is in the Substrate Builders Program (works directly with Parity.io), and has big names from Polkadot, RMRK, & Phala on their board is promising. Ethereum is not just currency at its core, its a smart contract platform which is used to implement distributed consensus, where each participating party sign the result, with their consensus algorithm.
