If you do find a way to hide app menus you might consider using Paletro or a similar extension for an automation tool, I know Alfred has a workflow for it, I'm guessing Raycast, Launchbar and maybe even Keyboard Maestro do to. How is performance these days? I used to use it or an alternative workflow and there was always a few second lag when I activated the workflow in each respective app for the first time after rebooting. Pretty much a premium linux experience out of the box, also things like Quicklook make it easy to instantaneously view a ton of files without even opening apps from documents to media files. Especially helpful if you're going through documentation and typically there's a bunch of it in various formats.
