I had skimmed through the closing announcement days ago, and I thought it was just some sort of rebranding like last time, from oxforddictionaries.com to lexico.com. Today, I wanted to look up a word but got redirected to dictionary.com, I was like WTH?! I was totally unprepared. What’s with the horizontal ticker? Is it a stock exchange or something? I have always used WordWeb (https://wordweb.info) and I’m yet to find something better (and simpler) either on desktop or mobile. It gives me pronunciations using sounds from commonly spoken words. Sound. Offline support. Multiple dictionaries. Multiple language combos if I want it.
