I stopped using Goodreads recently and started using an open source alternative to track my book reads[1]. I was only using it to keep track of what I was reading so it made sense for me to just use this app instead. If you don't need it to be a web app or a service, try out Tellico. I use it to track my physical books, comics, and video games. It can fetch metadata from a bunch of different sources and has a preset for music albums. Source: over 1 year ago

I love data and I can't imagine anyone other than myself being interested in this information, lol. It would be neat if one day, when all the info is in there, to share it and see if others like it too. It's not that I don't want to spend any money on it, it's just that another monthly fee isn't really feasible right now? I've been using Tellico for a few years now. You can retrieve metadata from a number of sources, search for books based on ISBN and other factors, and even track lending. It's FOSS and actively maintained (latest release came out in February). It's a standalone desktop app, so no docker is necessary. Source: about 2 years ago
