Hetzner Reviews

Best Vultr Alternatives and Competitor Cloud Services of 2022
Hetzner’s dashboard and interface are speedy and user-friendly, which makes them a perfect fit for professionals. They let you deploy servers in 3 different server locations including the US, Germany, and Finland. Hetzner claims to run its data centers according to strict European data protection regulations. But at the same time, the data center locations can be highly...

OpenNebula mentions (7)

  • Common OpenSource Cloud OS
OpenNebula is a cloud computing toolkit which is used to manage heterogeneous distributed datacenter infrastructures. And it controls a data center’s virtual infrastructure to build private, public as well as hybrid implementations of IaaS. Source: 12 months ago
  • VMware Alternatives?
Since it hasn't been mentioned I'll throw https://opennebula.io/ out there for this. Source: over 1 year ago

Probably Opennubula ( https://opennebula.io/ ) will satisfy your requirements. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Anyone already selfhost a cloud?
Have you looked at open nebula (https://opennebula.io/)? Haven't used it myself, but figured it was worth mentioning. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Hetzner now provides IPv6 only dedicated servers
    > ‘roll your own cloud’ is becoming more feasible https://opennebula.io is worth looking at for that sort of thing (not that it's new). You don't have to do it that way, but its "edge" support for simple provisioning on bare metal providers doesn't include Hetzner; I think it assumes you can get instances on demand. That sort of solution isn't complex or expensive enough for my site, and doubtless others,... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago

Hetzner mentions (34)

  • Free version control for game development handling large projects??
Self hosted Gitlab instance is an option. The only cost is hosting (personally I am using hetzner.com CPX31 instance, 16€ for 160GB a month but you can add 1TB volume for 45€ a month if you need more space). Just keep in mind that Gitlab needs about 8GB RAM to work correctly (it crashes on 2 and is only kinda stable on 4). You can also use an older computer or a NAS if you prefer to go that route. Source: over 1 year ago
  • What Absolute control?
Personally, I use hetzner.com's dedicated line, so I rent a full piece of physical server hardware. AmazonAWS is gross. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Privacy friendly, EU-based, host providers
Hetzner is awesome and they allow you to sign a data protection agreement contract. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Writing a DNS Server in Rust
I went ahead and purchased the domain dnsfun.dev from my registrar for 19.99€, and I purchased a VPS from my cloud provider for about 4.50€ per month. I then logged in to that VPS and ran something like this:. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
  • We reduced our annual server costs by 80% by moving away from AWS
We've just finished moving servers from AWS to https://hetzner.com - and saved 10X with servers of double the capability. A great experience so far. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
