Onyx by Obsidian Control mentions (1)

  • Automating lighting.
Onyx allows you to do cue, palletes on a touchscreen. If you want to try smpte or timecode the free version allows you a couple of mins before forcing you to reset the software and do it again. Source: over 1 year ago

QLC+ mentions (10)

  • USB Midi device with linux
I'm going to not answer your question and provide you with one anyway: experiment with QLC+. It's a lighting software, but it's very flexible with midi. On the last of the bottom tabs, you'll be able to select your device and visually see if some input is happening & from the Virtual board you can make a fader (or any control, really) to assign it to your device & check if moving your fader moves the one on screen... • Free simple programs to control 2 moving lights?
QLC+ - Free, open source, it's even got an FX engine! Source: about 1 year ago
  • DAW controlled Midi light bar.
If you're willing to upgrade to serious (read: fun) lighting devices, and get to experiment, I'd suggest you turn to DMX-controlled ones (can be cheap, you just get what you pay for); then buy the smallest, cheapest USB-to-DMX adapter and install QLC+. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Best distro/WM/DE for touchscreen?
What's the best DE, or possibly full distro, to benefit from it currently in your opinion? I know I'll use it with QLC+ & MagicQ. My workhorse L460 thinkpad runs Arch, btw, standard "don't-get-in-my-way" gnome. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Need help choosing a DMX software for my pc!
QLC+ (https://qlcplus.org/) is free and pretty easy to get started with for some basic lighting control. This should work with any USB to DMX dongle or other interface. Source: over 1 year ago
