  • Best way to extract text from CYOA's?
Hey! I know exactly what you mean: de-scrambling sentences and lists because of those damn columns sucks, but being blind, and with relatively few pdf, text, doc, etc, or interactive cyoas, it's complicated. My experience is, the drive to doc technique is probably the best, but onlineocr.net isn't bad either: on really hard conversions, I use both. I know thatt my reply comes a bit late, but still, good luck and... Source: over 1 year ago

  • OCR Recommendations
The best OCR I have come across on the internet is the one on onlineocr.net however its page limit makes its paid version not worth buying. Are there any other OCRs on the internet with similar quality, paid or not, my goal here is to make searchable word documents of textbooks. Source: about 2 years ago

  • What are your writer's habits?
I’m 🙈 like everyone else about writing directly into the AO3 editor (don’t know about Wattpad, does that autosave?) – even a browser-based alternative that autosaves like online notepad app, ompad, zenpen or an etherpad would be safer for writing (not for storing drafts ofc). Maybe if you look for something very clean with cloud storage + autosave you could try Dropbox Paper. Or Focuswriter might be a great and... Source: about 2 years ago
  • New rich text editors use native contenteditable
DraftJS, Slate, ProseMirror, Quill and more - they all use their model for abstracting dom (unfortunately I don't rememeber what was the exact reasoning. Quill has some article on that https://quilljs.com/docs/delta) I can see now the surge of new RTEs that simply use contenteditable and dom. Is it that isssue from the past that led those libs above to use abstractions - are not valid... Source: over 2 years ago
