I haven't seen a mention of the Oil Shell (https://oilshell.org) project's OSH/YSH yet and I'm quite surprised. Oils goal is that OSH is just a new Bash implementation (although not bug-for-bug) but with an upgrade-path to the more modern YSH for real programming with type safety etc, but still as a shell language. One of their exciting ideas is using code as data in a somewhat lisp-like manner to allow function... - Source: Hacker News / 23 days ago
(author here) Yeah you just repeated what https://oilshell.org/ is You'd want to be able to go $NEWSH my-bash-script.sh and it should just work. $NEWSH my-newsh-script.nsh should also work, obviously.- Source: Hacker News / 6 months agoosh my-bash-script.sh # works, it's the most bash-compatible shell by a mile.
> I know how and love to write in bash. But oh god was it painful to learn This is very well said :) > Sad that there's nothing established to take its place (Perl is read-only, python is not good enough as unix glue, everything else is too obscure). Python has a separate... - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago

I did a little research and then according Mitchell Brown on quora.com, it's stated that the intro of Portal 2 suggests that it takes place far in the future, but many have speculated it takes place around the time of Half Life 2. That would mean between approximately 2020 and 2029, give or take. The Black Mesa incident occurred in the year “200-”, according to canon sources. This means it could have happened at... My school gives me a laptop that is very restricted, most settings cannot be changed without admin, everything is logged, cmd blocked, websites blocked, etc. My laptop with Zorin OS (linux) does not have that issue so I always keep it in my bag. I would like to connect to the school wifi, however they still block certain web requests like quora.com, and nordvpn.com to name a few. For some reason my phone has no... Source: about 1 year ago
Consider substack, too. I subscribe to four substack blogs, ranging from $3 to $10 a month. This is split between author and substack. Also check out medium.com and quora.com If you don't make money now, you'll at least pack your writing resume. Source: about 1 year ago
I have a Space on quora.com that I administer and its fairly good sized. I'm not trying to one up anyone. It was mentioned if only to pointing to emphasize my view, action, and responsibility. Source: about 1 year ago
