Offline QR Code Generator VS ZXing Decoder

One thing I've found very very useful when I just want to send a short text or a link from PC to phone is to use a QR code generator. I've used this so often that I've installed a firefox plugin to generate QR codes offline: https://github.com/rugk/offline-qr-code. Source: about 2 years ago

On my Linux-/Windows-PC I use firefoxplugin QR & Barcode Generator. The QR-Code-Window shows the current browser URL as QR-Code but you can type in any text that immediately converted to QR-Code. Source: about 2 years ago

FYI if your phone can't read QR codes, there's websites where you can upload a photo/screenshot of a QR code (for example: https://zxing.org/w/decode.jspx). There's also other similar websites where you can just hold up the QR code to your computer's webcam, rather than having to upload a file, but just be careful with site permissions! Using the site https://zxing.org/w/decode.jspx and the QR code found on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_code#/media/File:QR_code_for_mobile_English_Wikipedia.svg you can see that the QR code only contains the text. Source: almost 2 years ago
