For me, one of the best roguelites is Nuclear Throne. They have permadeath, they have procedural levels, the have difficulty peaks but all is set correctly. All the progress come on the skills. Hey everyone, I am planning on making use of my remote gig in the fall of 2023 after I graduate the May before, and am thinking of starting in Mancora Peru. I have spent quite a bit of time on selina.com looking at their hostels, and they have one there, and they look pretty sweet. Not to mention their co-work space would be useful.
