NewsBlur might be a bit more popular than Newsela. We know about 20 links to it since March 2021 and only 15 links to Newsela. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.

There's a bunch of replacements. I like https://newsblur.com but there are 4-6 large-ish similar sites. That said, partially what people miss is the relative cultural hegemony of Google Reader.
