If you have been watching any sort of sports in the US, this isn't a surprise at all. NBA already has official NFTs in https://nbatopshot.com/ . The other major leagues have partnered with app-based gambling organizations like DraftKings and Fanduel, and there's been a ton of crypto advertisements recently. Nbatopshot.com says my collector score is 1.8k, but otmnft says it's 1.8k plus bonuses of 1.05k for a total of just under 2900. Should I go off the 2900 number then? If they say we need 3500 or something, I just push it an extra 600? Source: over 2 years ago

Cutting out the middleman in other types of transactions, such as real estate or event tickets, or anything else that's one-of-a-kind is one of the advantages. The NBA and Mark Cuban are avowed "fans," so I'm guessing it'll start there before moving to other sports and then the arts and music industry/other events like Crypto Punks and PaperMen. Thanks! Have them all and some more (btw https://defi.watch is the closest one to what I want but it laks support of popular defi protocols (e.g. Uniswap is there but no gmx).
