Questions and Answers

As answered by people managing Myphoner and Cloudsmith.

What's the story behind your product?

Myphoner's answer

I founded Myphoner in 2012 while working with a team of salespeople. I watched how they struggled to keep track of leads using spreadsheets. Using spreadsheets they lost control and overview. I thought that there needed to be a better way.

I looked into what was available and all I found were expensive and complex CRM systems that were all about CUSTOMER management, but what they needed was LEAD management. So I ended up building a simple but powerful solution.

Myphoner has since rallied a crowd of enthusiastic cold callers and evangelists in sales. We've helped freelancers, startups and agencies grow their businesses and serve their clients.

We are positive that our success is due to our belief in designing for simplicity. We are opinionated and believe in sensible defaults and convention over configuration. We also believe in limiting scope but increasing interoperability.

We've seen it over and over again. Monolith software systems that CAN do everything, but don't because it becomes too complex to make it fit even the most basic workflow.

Myphoner is the opposite. Our passion is building advanced software tailored to a specific workflow, encapsulating the underlying complexity in a crisp, easy to use interface.

All you need to use Myphoner is a desire to talk to your potential customers. Without the chores of a CRM or the hassles of a spreadsheet, you'll soon find Myphoner to be the primary tool in your toolbox.

How would you describe your primary audience?

Myphoner's answer

Small businesses looking for straightforward processes without a hefty price tag.

Why should a person choose your product over its competitors?

Myphoner's answer

All businesses are unique and require different tools, & at Myphoner, we understand that. So the answer is not why everyone should choose Myphoner, but rather who would benefit from choosing us. Myphoner is built for sales teams focusing on the beginning of the sales funnel, making cold outreach as straightforward and streamlined as possible.

Are you running a small business or a small sales team, looking for a straightforward cold calling solution without the hefty price tag, Myphoner is for you.

What makes your product unique?

Myphoner's answer

We've designed Myphoner with the sales agent in focus. Our lead queue is rather unique, making it straightforward to start calling efficiently and enabling agents to focus on conversations rather than complex procedures and features they don't need. People use Myphoner because they love the simplicity and streamlined workflow.

I used to work for a company called Myphoner which does what you're looking to do its more designed to be a sales follow up tool, but essentially is a mini crm. Could give you good ideas on what to do/not to do. Source: over 1 year ago

Linus Torvalds about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pzl1B7nB9Kc Distros (Debian in particular comes to mind) have some really annoying packaging rules, and as a maintainer of a Go program, it's a huge pain, so we decided to just set up a repo with https://cloudsmith.com/ instead of trying to deal with that.
