I finally found My Family Tree and it addressed all my issues. It's comparatively sleek and – dare I say it – sexy, and is ridiculously easy to use. I'm yet to find any function it doesn't have. If you're looking for something more complex, I'd highly suggest GenoPro, a genogram-making application where you can draw out a family tree and include additional information along with it, such as interfamilial relationships, medical history, and all sorts of things.
