A long time ago, I had some RSI issues that were alleviated by using the Magic Trackpad, and this led me to create the Multitouch app[0] to add a bit more functionality to the Magic Trackpad. Try Multitouch. I made it first, then made Middle because a lot of people were using Multitouch for just the middle click. You can configure a gesture multiple times, then restrict each instance to a specific app. Source: over 1 year ago

The big negative is that there is not a ton of native functionality for these things on Windows. I use a paid driver https://magicutilities.net/, which sadly costs around $14/yr. I have not found a free alternative that offers the full range of features so I just bite the bullet and pay for this. I'd imagine there are utilities for these on Linux, you'll have to dig around for that yourself though. Source: almost 2 years ago
