Thanks! Yes, Booklet is where I spend most of my time. I think it's a big opportunity to have more of a hosted Discourse alternative. I'll work on some comparison pages - thanks for the suggestion. > Is it enough to live off of? I do a little bit of consulting [1] , which bridges the gap. That way, I'm not losing money building the company. Though, all of my products make revenue, and things are doing well in... - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
We noticed that the flexibility and diversity of work available to software developers is impressive. Platforms like https://a.team, https://moonlightwork.com, and https://fraction.work are offering freelancing, part-time, and even fractional opportunities serving SWEs with a plethora of new, innovative ways of working. Hey Reddit community, Having worked in IT Audit (I mostly audit SaaS companies) for quite some time, I've noticed an interesting puzzle. A lot of small to medium-sized businesses seem to lack dedicated security or compliance roles. Essential tasks get scattered across teams without much oversight and strategy. Sometimes, consulting firms step in, establish necessary controls, formulate policies (you know, to get... Source: 11 months ago
A company I loved https://moonlightwork.com/ (which is a shell of its former self) was built with nocode platforms, and then sold for a big chunk of money. The new owner let it fall to shit almost immediately by not seeking out the same high quality leads. Source: 12 months ago

I move between machines a lot and prefer an online tool; I'm self-hosting Trilium Notes https://github.com/zadam/trilium ; this looks a bit cleaner but without syncing (or server-side storage) it misses a bunch of potential use cases. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
Have a look at Trilium: especially if you have a way of running it on an internet connected server, it solved all note-taking problems I had: mainly have access to it from anywhere incl. work. Source: 10 months ago
In case if you want some Evernote alternatives, here's my shortlist: 1. Trilium Notes: https://github.com/zadam/trilium. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
To my understating, you can pay to have Obsidian notes sync. I know nothing of the security around the encryption. One of the main reasons that I went with Joplin Notes over Obsidian is that Joplin gave me the ability to sync without paying for access to a server that I don't know well enough to trust. There is also Trilium notes (https://github.com/zadam/trilium). However, that did not over a sync feature last... Source: 11 months ago
