Monkkee Reviews

  1. Most secure journal app, easy to use and free

Monkkee is so secure that the entries can be read only by you. If you lost the password it is lost forever. No one has access to even your password. It provides client side encryption i.e the entries are encrypted even before they are transferred to the server. It is easy to use. You can categorize your diary entries using tags.

  • GNU Units
I personally use Qalculate (https://qalculate.github.io/), specifically their CLI version for this purpose. I'm not sure how well it compares to GNU Units, but it works well enough for my needs; and it's fairly simple using English-like syntax. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • Ask HN: Do you still use a hand held/desktop calculator?

Combine it with a cli graphing tool and you can do pretty cool things. Anything more complicated I'm probably ok with latency, so I open up wolframalpha and enter it there, again, in natural language. [1]... - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
