    Also, I heard from my friend, that his DAC is a Pangolin FB3. If you have a licence to the Beyond software, then you can use the modulaser app to interface with MIDI. It sounds like it's exactly what I need, and is only $100 (free trial). It was a bummer when I heard that the Beyond license is $700.   • Laser music! Here the laser is modulated by an audio source, and then shone onto a solar panel to convert back to an electrical (audio) signal and you can hear the original input into the laser!
    The cyclops is specifically for the modular domain, but it looks like there are other laser DAC's which might do something similar. Depends where the audio source you want to drive the laser with is coming from I guess, but heres a computer based option https://modulaser.app. Source: almost 3 years ago
