I use Mypaint since many years, for graphic palets worskhops with children , and I have just positive feelings about it. Many tools, rather easy to use, and great compatibility with my Wacom. Recommanded.

Export your character as an OBJ or FBX, if it is too big, compress under zip and go to mixamo.com, create an account, upload your obj or fbx or zip file, you'll be given some circles to drag under (chin, knees, wrists, etc..) and mixamo does the rigging automatically, plus you'll get access to a lot of animations, and you can choose from those animations (running, fighting, superhero stuf...) and it is applied to... Have you tried mixamo.com, (adobes animations site) it has a an auto rigger you can use, it only rigs humanoids, does a fairly good job but since the proportions of your model are quite off from a 'normal' humanoid I think it might not do a good job but its worth trying (its free). For free items from the Unreal marketplace yes.If you need a zombie model head to https://www.mixamo.com/#/, all the models in there are free to use they also have a zombie in there, its not the best triple A quality but it should be good enough for your project. Source: about 1 year ago

Mypaint is the most lightweight software ive used, but it doesnt have the same level of community support as krita, so some features may be lacking... Source: over 1 year ago
Essentially, I've found the more time you have to spend spend learning the apps and/or using its tools, the less time you have to actually enjoy the art of creating. Try apps that cut down the friction between you and your art; Krita, MyPaint, etc. Would be my first suggestions since they're free, then maybe ArtRage, or Sketchbook Pro if money is not a concern. Mypaint (http://mypaint.org/) is simpler to use than Krita. Krita can be 'simplified' a bit by closing some of the unnecessary docked tools on the right. Source: almost 2 years ago
