  I did a bootcamp a couple years ago when I was 35, so I can understand the inherent concern learning something new in your 30s. Bootcamps can be expensive, time intensive, and frustrating if you don't have some coding knowledge already.   Should you move to self-taught, research the sub-field you're interested in and learn the languages around that (i.e. JS, TS, Ruby, Python, etc. For web; Java for Android app dev; Kotlin, R, or Python for data science; Swift for iOS app dev; or any of C++, C#, Assembly, etc. For what they're best for).   In terms of structure, consider following a book like Python for Everybody or Automate the Boring Stuff With Python. One of the hard parts of learning a language like python on your own is knowing what you should learn and the order you should learn it in--resources like these books or online courses you can find on Coursera are great for helping with that.
