Honestly, I'm not sure about prototyping capability on upwork. I guess a few of the freelancers there would have some capability of making prototypes -- especially if 3D plastic printing would work. Someone suggested I should try openbom.com, but after trying it I don't really see how this helps me handle version changes without a link to Solidworks. Do you have any suggestions? I see that there is a lot of different PDM software out there https://www.g2.com/categories/plm and it is very time-consuming to try them all. Source: about 3 years ago
