  • Metadata Downloader - Third Party
I'm currently using Tiny Media Manager. Before that I had paid for a lifetime license for Media Center Master. I switched from MCM to TMM due to TMM being able to be run in a docker on Unraid where all my media files are kept anyway. Source: about 3 years ago
  • For years I have been stuck with this thumbnail for all of my movies in the Kodi library, and it's driving me crazy! 😫 I'm hardwired to my Windows PC, and my movies are stored in a Western Digital NAS drive. Can anyone help!?
This is but 1 of the reasons why I don't rely on Kodi to do anything but read my metadata & play my files, I do all my metadata with MCM. Source: about 3 years ago
  • GUI for movies on hard drive
I set all my metadata manually with MCM right along side my media, that way Kodi only reads it & never changes/downloads anything. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Kodi on Nvidia Shield 2019 Pro - Filled up my storage, moved it to external and playing anything is slow as cold molasses.
I run Kodi as the interface for all my media servers on the 2019 Pro without issue, tho I also use MCM to setup all my metadata manually with my content as I rip it (not the internal scrappers & Kodi only reads it/nevr changes anything) so I'm in control of everything it downloads & the size thereof. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Keeping things separated.
Seemingly some of you really jump thru some unnecessary hoops to have Kodi scrape for you when all you need is MCM. Source: over 3 years ago

  • Looking For: inventory for music albums
If you don't need it to be a web app or a service, try out Tellico. I use it to track my physical books, comics, and video games. It can fetch metadata from a bunch of different sources and has a preset for music albums. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Self hosted physical bookshelf database with ISBN scanning
Tellico has been a great tool for managing our collections - books, comics, games, etc. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • [Poll] Best software for hoarders and curators?
Tellico is a KDE project (linux) for managing collections of all sorts. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Relational database for non-technical person with spreadsheets that are getting out of control.
I love data and I can't imagine anyone other than myself being interested in this information, lol. It would be neat if one day, when all the info is in there, to share it and see if others like it too. It's not that I don't want to spend any money on it, it's just that another monthly fee isn't really feasible right now? I think my priority is to be able to fiddle around with the data and patterns myself. I... Source: about 2 years ago
  • Book database
I've been using Tellico for a few years now. You can retrieve metadata from a number of sources, search for books based on ISBN and other factors, and even track lending. It's FOSS and actively maintained (latest release came out in February). It's a standalone desktop app, so no docker is necessary. Source: about 2 years ago
