I'm currently using Tiny Media Manager. Before that I had paid for a lifetime license for Media Center Master. I switched from MCM to TMM due to TMM being able to be run in a docker on Unraid where all my media files are kept anyway. Source: about 3 years ago

I run Kodi as the interface for all my media servers on the 2019 Pro without issue, tho I also use MCM to setup all my metadata manually with my content as I rip it (not the internal scrappers & Kodi only reads it/nevr changes anything) so I'm in control of everything it downloads & the size thereof. I've been using Tellico for a few years now. You can retrieve metadata from a number of sources, search for books based on ISBN and other factors, and even track lending. It's FOSS and actively maintained (latest release came out in February). It's a standalone desktop app, so no docker is necessary. Source: about 2 years ago
