Application Control Plus is a security product from ManageEngine that automates the upkeep of application whitelists and blacklists in an enterprise environment. This solution heightens network security by preventing unsafe applications like remote desktop sharing software, end-of-life applications and software that work on peer-to-peer architecture from making their way into your network.
Applications of such nature can compromise network security and also act as gateways for malware intrusion. The application whitelisting feature of the product enables you to actively monitor and manage a list of trusted applications that are allowed to install on client machines across your network. This feature also helps you ensure that software present in managed systems cannot be leveraged during a cyber attack.
The application blacklisting feature lets you prevent specified applications and executables from existing on endpoints. Apart from adding an extra layer of security, this feature helps keep apps that interfere with employee productivity such as instant messaging, social media and games at bay.
The built-in flexibility regulator aids admins during initial stages of implementing an application control cycle by introducing two modes of management, which are audit and strict modes. While Audit mode allows applications present in the whitelist and greylist, strict mode only allows applications from the whitelist while blacklisted apps are blocked always.

Passwords are the first line of defense for protecting your digital information and your accounts. Weak or easy-to-guess passwords are often all it takes for nefarious actors to gain access to things they shouldn't.
