I have the 15-inch 2015 MBPro. The fan noise was iNsAnE. I was able to fix it using Turbo Boost Switcher. A replacement battery can be purchased for less than $100. Installing it isn't super easy but it's totally doable with some patience and persistence. Good luck! Source: about 1 year ago
