Once your in, click the compass and then click the oak sign "Create Server". This will create your own server with /op.   What device did you get minecraft on? If your on windows did you buy the Windows 10 Edition or the Java Edition. If you bought java edition (windows, Mac, and Linux) probably the best way is to use something like Minehut.
