  • CB wants me to produce an entire track for some quickly written lyrics they have for free because “it’s easy”!
Ardour, Reaper (60 days of trial and really cheap license for an amazing software), LMMS and Cakewalk are all free if you don't own an Apple device or don't like GarageBand. But for real, GarageBand is incredibly awesome, I remember first trying out on one of the first ipod touch models and this year testing the newest version on ipad, it's insane what the developers kept adding, I still can't believe it's... - Source: Reddit / 4 days ago

  • No spend hobby I can do now? (lockdown)
You can also learn to make music in your computer or at least make some noises for a few days, try with a free software like https://www.bandlab.com/products/cakewalk or https://lmms.io/ and if your computer is really low end you can use some oldschool trackers like milkytracker to make chiptunes. - Source: Reddit / 6 days ago

  • Need Help with Ableton download for Mac
Another thing to point out is ideally you'll have a firewall type program installed that will block any outgoing connection attempts to ableton.com. I use Little Snitch (which has a 30-day free trial I believe). Regardless, a key time to have outgoing connections blocked is when you open the app for the first time. I would disconnect from the internet before opening the app the first time to cover you on this.... - Source: Reddit / 29 days ago

I wish ableton did not require external power source to a plug that is magically in a box that who knows what goes in that box at this point. 6volt, are you kidding me. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
  • Live 11 Trial can't be authenticated
Has anyone been having this issue? I've been using the 11 Trial for almost a month fine without issue. As of yesterday it now says it cant be authenticated upon opening, trying to connect to ableton.com to verify trial license etc, retrieving licence, but it doesn't work. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
