Yes. And harder to mine. The reward for miners becomes 6 coins instead of the twelve you receive when proofing (finding) a block. The value does happen right away.. Could someone explain what I'm looking at? I think this is from `https://statcounter.com/` (?), but that site doesn't load for me at the moment, and there's no readme or description on that (1 star) repo, or its associated account.
