  • MicroWeb 2.0 – DOS web browser for Intel 8088
I'm assuming author is aware of (E)Links? http://links.twibright.com At least Links seems to have a DOS version. - Source: Hacker News / 9 days ago
  • Show HN: Frogmouth – A Markdown browser for your terminal
Http://links.twibright.com is the website, but the easiest way to try it is probably to search your preferred package manager. - Source: Hacker News / 12 months ago
  • can someone with courier access please provide details on this report
The Couriers paywall is soft and pathetic, you can read their stories with a text based browser that doesn't include javascript, e.g. http://links.twibright.com/. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Kristall – a browser without support for CSS/JS/WASM or graphical websites
Like Links[1] then? Really. I want Epiphany and Firefox to allow me turn off JavaScript like I can allow/disallow {Audio, Video, Webcam, Location, Notifications...}. The single wrong decision was following Google into that JS-Show. JS has it rationals, I'm using it as programmer sometimes. But JS was consider harmful for the reasons! Google intention was using JS for it's so called... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

  • MacLynx beta 4: now with scrollbars and dialogue boxes
Thanks for mentioning elinks (http://elinks.or.cz/). I was about ¾ of the way through that article and thinking "as an academic exercise, sure. otherwise this just looks like 'its been done a thousand times before... But not by me.'" which was leading me to share the page for elinks. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • SW etc needed.
Some text browser like elinks or a converter like pandoc. Hopefully you have Linux. :). Source: over 1 year ago
  • The what?
Time to audit firefox code, compile it manually, application firewalls, full content inspections to avoid any private data leaking. Get stressed and move to elinks. Source: about 2 years ago
  • /etc/elinks.conf can't display images
ELinks is a text browser (unmaintained since 2012) and according to your description the setting appears to be working just as described in the fine manual, i. e. The browser always displays the text "IMG" and not the filename, title, or alternate text when rendering tags. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Knowledgebase tools
Tiddlywiki is a wiki in a single file (ie it updates the file itself) - if you can make that work with a text mode browser such as elinks (http://elinks.or.cz/) then that could be a direction worth exploring. Source: almost 3 years ago
