  • That's a library and a half
I have 827 (thank you librarything.com for the catalogue) and 7 dictionaries in four languages accumulated over 50-odd years. I have several matching sets I’ve bought as they were issued. You just have to (a) buy books and (b) live a long time. Source: 11 months ago
  • Keep track of books!
I use librarything.com to keep track of books I read. One of the things I like most about the site is that it basically works like your own personal library card catalog. You can create "collections" as well as tags to organize your books. You can easily add books by edition, format, or ISBN to your library. And if you have physical books, you can scan the barcodes to add them to your library instead of entering... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Library management system
Take a look at librarything.com, probably perfect for small libraries. Source: over 1 year ago

i'll also put in a plug for librarything.com. I prefer it way more than goodreads. It feels less more indie and far smaller. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Book tracker where you can add notes
I believe you can make comments vs. Private comments on librarything.com. You can also set your entire library to private. Source: over 1 year ago

  • My Hacker News knowledge assimilation stack
Does instapaper have HN formatting service now (or) do you manually send HN story through it? 'Send to Kindle' extension of Amazon can do the same if anyone is looking for a free option, But 'HN to Kindle' formats the HN page and sends as a book. Before Obsidian, I tried 'Kindle 2 Notion'[1] to sync My clippings.txt from Kindle to notion, But Notion is too heavy for my liking, I don't use it for any other purpose.... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
  • I like e-readers now
My favorite part about ebooks, and specifically Amazon is that you can flip through your highlights. I will highlight parts of a book I really enjoyed and sometimes write personal notes about them as I read. I enjoy going back and spending 15-30 minutes going through my highlights and notes on books I previously read and re-reading sections around highlights. It brings back a surprising amount of memories and... - Source: Hacker News / over 2 years ago
  • I made a website which exports all your Kindle Highlights into a Notion page, for going through old books in minutes!
Depends on whether one is comfortable using a command line to do just the same stuff. Kindle2notion offers fundamentally the same features, you just need to do a little more work setting it up. Source: almost 3 years ago
