This is such a wonderful abd helpful game-making platform,even for the beginners. And i know and I've played in the several games ,for example,which were made so thoroughly and carefully and also simply by using “UNITY” . So the game quality is just a matter of the programmer's skill,i think.

I found it confusing for a similar reason especially when you get into more complicated designs with multiple parts. I think development could be massively sped up with a little funding. I tried libfive (https://libfive.com/studio/) too which is roughly similar to OpenSCAD but faster to sketch with imo.
