  • Need strategy for scheduling hundreds or maybe thousands of timed jobs
Looks like you have some answers but thought you might want to check out this resource from one of Laravel's core developers: https://learn-laravel-queues.com/. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Advice on becoming a Senior Laravel Developer
You also have the Laravel queues in action book from Mohamed Said, who worked in the laravel core team. The Eloquent performance patterns course is also a good one. Source: over 2 years ago
  • What are your biggest challenges when using Laravel?
I will admit, job queues in Laravel are incredibly powerful but often misunderstood. If you want to know more Mohammed Said's book is great with lots of info missing from even the docs. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Want to take my Laravel game to the next level, any suggestions for advanced books and resources?
I learned a lot about Queues from this book: https://learn-laravel-queues.com. Source: about 3 years ago

  • Word Count Accountability/Writing App??
There's 4thewords, where they gamify writing. I've not tried it but it looks interesting. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Executive Dysfunction
Yes, I'm the same way. Two things have helped me. 1. Using the Pomodoro technique. You can find timers online and they tick while you are doing whatever, which I find helps me stay on track. I do 30 minutes with 5 minutes break. 2. 4thewords.com is a really cool gamification system for writers. You basically fight monsters while you're writing. It's amazing how well it keeps you on track! Also, there are some... Source: about 2 years ago
  • Where you write?
I use 4thewords.com with Scrivener for organisation and notes, but it really depends on what works for you. I like the gamification of 4thewords because it helps me focus, other people prefer options where they can completely turn off their wifi for fewer distractions. There are people who still write entirely by hand for their first drafts because it helps turn off their inner editor. Try a few options and see... Source: about 2 years ago
  • Hello, I'm Celia Lake. I write cosy historical fantasy romances. Ask Me Anything today!
My word count went up substantially when I stopped commuting every day in March of 2020. These days I'm in the office 2-3 days a week, but I've kept the words up, and average about 2K a day (though there are days I do a lot less and some I do more). I draft on 4theWords, so there is a bit of gamification there - can I get through this word battle to defeat this monster, etc. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Campfire Writing?
I use 4TheWords more often than some of the other ones lately, and it's sorta fun too. They've got a thirty day trial and plenty of events that give you additional time for free (especially NaNo). Also worth a check if some of the other software doesn't tickle your fancy.
