Laravel Forge Reviews

  1. I like how php based apps are deployed here

I have tested other solutions , and I had some issues with Nginx because it was giving me 405 error everytime someone tried to make a post request to my server url, but with Laravel Forge that didn't happen and it was all smooth and successful.

    🏁 Competitors: Ploi.io
    👍 Pros:    Mature product

  • Making the case for Laravel as a Next.js alternative
Since Laravel runs on PHP, and PHP has been around for decades, getting a server provisioned with the requirements for a LAMP (or LEMP) stack is not too difficult of a task. Even managed services like Laravel Forge that can handle the provisioning and configuration of your server for you, similarly to how Next.js has managed application... - Source: dev.to / 9 months ago
  • I know how to make a web app. I don't know how to deploy it
I'm sure a bunch of people more knowledgeable than me will point you towards trendy solutions like Forge, Vapor, Heroku (is that still a thing ?) and other providers, so I'm not going to tell you about that because I'm not familiar with them. What I am familiar with though is hosting apps on my (or my company's) own servers, and this is what it always boils down to, except some services will do most of the work... Source: over 1 year ago

  • Need advice on hiring process for dev team
What I had in mind was using either SHL-style aptitude tests, or third party assessments like testgorilla.com rather than a take-home exercise that I'd be moderating. I also remembered doing an online knowledge test of various web technologies when I used to be a web-dev - which could be useful for assessing Unity/C# knowledge. Source: over 1 year ago
