Laravel Forge Reviews

  1. I like how php based apps are deployed here

I have tested other solutions , and I had some issues with Nginx because it was giving me 405 error everytime someone tried to make a post request to my server url, but with Laravel Forge that didn't happen and it was all smooth and successful.

  • Deploying Laravel App to Ubuntu Server Via SSH
If you are reading this, you are definetly a web developper looking for an easy way to deploy your Laravel app manually, avoiding extra charges that comes with subscribing to application deployment service such as Laravel Forge. - Source: dev.to / 5 months ago
  • Making the case for Laravel as a Next.js alternative
Since Laravel runs on PHP, and PHP has been around for decades, getting a server provisioned with the requirements for a LAMP (or LEMP) stack is not too difficult of a task. There's a plethora of options available, from shared hosting to VPS providers. Even managed services like Laravel Forge that can handle the provisioning and configuration of your server for you, similarly to how Next.js has managed application... - Source: dev.to / 10 months ago
  • I know how to make a web app. I don't know how to deploy it
I'm sure a bunch of people more knowledgeable than me will point you towards trendy solutions like Forge, Vapor, Heroku (is that still a thing ?) and other providers, so I'm not going to tell you about that because I'm not familiar with them. What I am familiar with though is hosting apps on my (or my company's) own servers, and this is what it always boils down to, except some services will do most of the work... Source: over 1 year ago

  • Deploying and hosting Full-Stack Laravel apps
For production app with > 100 paying customers maybe is better option to migrate to something like the Laravel services but for side projects maybe we just need to deploy and to show the app to your friends or get some users and see how it goes spending less as possible. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago

  • Setting up a www subdomain on a self-hosted Ghost blog
Ghost CMS makes it fairly easy to link your blog to your own domain and set up SSL. The ghost setup command in ghost-cli basically does it for you. However, for me it didn't automatically set up a www subdomain. So I could access, say, https://https://myblog.lol, but https://www.myblog.lol would result in a 502. I was thinking of just adding a CNAME or ALIAS record in my providers DNS settings, but that didn't... - Source: dev.to / 23 days ago
  • Proton and Standard Notes are joining forces
Diversifying a lot. Next acquisition will be Ghost(https://ghost.org/) I bet. Similar DNA, fits in the portfolio (If they are trying to match the feature set of Google) and have no VC backing. - Source: Hacker News / 2 months ago
  • Why I Care Deeply About Web Accessibility And You Should Too
For example, if you are in a country where you can accept Stripe and are publishing a newsletter through, Substack or using the Ghost platform, enabling the ability to accept payments is a few clicks away. For those who cannot accept payment with Stripe, well, you are up the creek without a paddle. I do not know about you, but I see that as a barrier to access. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
