Sprite Lamp features and specs

  • Enhanced Lighting Effects
Sprite Lamp allows artists to create dynamic lighting effects for 2D sprites using hand-drawn normal maps, enhancing the visual appeal of games.

  • Dependent on Art Style
The benefits of Sprite Lamp are more pronounced with specific art styles, and it may not be as useful or compatible with all visual designs.
  • Performance Overhead
Adding dynamic lighting effects using normal maps can increase the computational load on a game, potentially affecting performance, especially on less powerful hardware.
  • Limited to 2D
While powerful for 2D lighting effects, Sprite Lamp does not extend to 3D assets, which could be a limitation for developers working with mixed dimensional content.
