I prefer Kodi: https://kodi.tv/ It is free and open sourced and won't use DRM or phone home on you. Nothing comes out on DVD anymore, everything is Video Streaming paid per month or year. - Source: Hacker News / 1 day ago

Honestly? I use https://beets.io/ to organise all my FLAC on my NAS. I expose the /Music directory over NFC. I use https://kodi.tv/ to stream music to my amp. I manually pick the album I want to listen to. Kodi also has a fairly reasonable web UI. Keep it simple. - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
Do yourself a favor, get a shitty PC or raspberry pi, plug it into your TV, and install Kodi on it. Source: 11 months ago
Kodi sounds like what you're describing. You connect it to a tv and it can play media from your network, or use add-ons for internet streaming. I'm not sure if it includes the most popular streaming services, but I suppose you could use a browser for those. Source: 11 months ago
Nah think it looks messy and has no added search benefit. I use FlickMetrix for searching and finding movies anyways. Works much better imo and is free. Source: 11 months ago
I've been using sqlc for a personal project and I really like the library. The only think it's not great at is adding an arbitrary number of where statements dynamically. I am essentially creating a filter that has a bunch of filterable fields such as year, rating, genre, etc - similar to the filters in this site https://flickmetrix.com/. Source: 12 months ago
Don't really need any other add-ons, but Discovery in Stremio is a bit lacking, searching for new movies or series is a bit annoying. Usually I use Flickmetrix to search for something then just play it in stremio. If Stremio would have an integrated search like that one it would be absolutely perfect. Source: about 1 year ago
Looks alot like https://flickmetrix.com/ on the surface. Maybe there's some features I'm missing though? Source: over 2 years ago
