  • Open Source Communities
KDE community has many apps (especially Plasma desktop, Kdenlive and Krita) and the devs are friendly and awesome ! Scribus is in total need of help. (only two devs are maintaining the whole project) Manjaro is a popular Arch based distro that helps Linux users to benefit from rolling release model while maintaining stability. And the team is much better and friendly than those creepy and arrogant Arch dinosaurs. Source: about 1 year ago
  • why kubuntu ?
I mean, just look at all the apps they develop: https://apps.kde.org/ Every single one of them is arguably the best in its field. You could install them on another DE... But why? Source: about 1 year ago
  • Your top 3 favourite KDE apps
So many others!! Check them out for yourself at https://apps.kde.org/. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Every time you search on Google, look at Gmail, write a Google doc, etc, without using Chrome as your default browser, Google will nag you to use Chrome instead of alternative browsers. This is unfair and anti-competitive. Should the EU step in?
KDE makes a lot of nice daily software, like krita (graphic editor), kde connect (sync stuff among devices), kate (great text editor), and many more. Source: over 1 year ago
  • KDE as a DE on a linux system, Kubuntu, or KDE Plasma? what are the main differences?
The difference between the two is how recent their KDE software is and how often said KDE software is updated. KDE Neon's KDE software is up-to-date, on par with the latest stable releases, updated every week maybe, be it features or bug fixes (again, KDE software only, see apps.kde.org). • WezTerm: an actually good config key binding recipe
While WezTerm is a great terminal with sane defaults, it doesn't provide The default key binding to open the configuration file and edit it. That is Understandable, everyone may have their own preference for that. Here we will Figure out the recipe that would work everywhere and abide by modern standards. - Source: dev.to / 16 days ago
  • Superfile – A fancy, petty terminal file manager
I very well might be in the minority of Linux users, but I don't particularly care about the answers to most of these questions. I just want it to work. Give me solid defaults[0]. I'm not saying you shouldn't be able to override those defaults. That's an important feature of Linux. My first experience running a cool-looking TUI file manager yesterday (I actually ended up trying yazi first) was that I got a lot of... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • what terminal emulator would you recommend?
Wezterm is pretty good, I've been using it for a long time without any issues. The feature set is honestly huge and I'm probably using 10% of the capabilities, but I like having a lot of options. Source: 6 months ago
  • Terminal emulators that break from the traditional rendering approach?
And my own humble entry in this space is wezterm: https://wezfurlong.org/wezterm which has a decent population of users in Japan and a handful of arabic/RTL users for the unfinished bidi support. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Switching from Emacs. My experience
Either Wezterm OR Window-terminal I Personally use WindowTERM with alacritty * when needed Since WindowTerm has some weird ncurses issues ,. Source: about 1 year ago
