KDE community has many apps (especially Plasma desktop, Kdenlive and Krita) and the devs are friendly and awesome ! Scribus is in total need of help. (only two devs are maintaining the whole project) Manjaro is a popular Arch based distro that helps Linux users to benefit from rolling release model while maintaining stability. And the team is much better and friendly than those creepy and arrogant Arch dinosaurs. Source: about 1 year ago
I mean, just look at all the apps they develop: https://apps.kde.org/ Every single one of them is arguably the best in its field. You could install them on another DE... But why? Source: about 1 year ago
So many others!! Check them out for yourself at https://apps.kde.org/. Source: about 1 year ago
KDE makes a lot of nice daily software, like krita (graphic editor), kde connect (sync stuff among devices), kate (great text editor), and many more. Source: over 1 year ago
The difference between the two is how recent their KDE software is and how often said KDE software is updated. KDE Neon's KDE software is up-to-date, on par with the latest stable releases, updated every week maybe, be it features or bug fixes (again, KDE software only, see apps.kde.org). > I don't know a single techie person who uses Windows (other than for gaming) I'd say that Windows actually has some nice software, like MobaXTerm: https://mobaxterm.mobatek.net/ which in my eyes is better than Remmina or pretty much anything I've found on nix, short of just running the same thing on Wine. WinSCP is also pretty cool, albeit nothing particularly special: https://winscp.net/eng/index.php PowerToys... - Source: Hacker News / about 2 months ago
For working with remote machines that I need to ssh into I've found mobaXTerm[1] to be a very useful terminal emulator. It has an optional remote monitoring feature that shows the usual stats as a small bar under the active terminal window. It's a windows only application though. There are various SSH clients available for Windows (PuTTY, Solar-PuTTY, MobaXterm, Termius, etc) but if you use Windows versions older than 10, the installation of PuTTY is suggested. Source: 7 months ago
