  • Typing Fast Is About Latency, Not Throughput
Yeah! Whilst usually a side show to real events there's a bunch of virtual and in person events. Two years there was an event in the UK dedicated to typing. Last year the US. Virtual tournaments happen frequently throughout the year. The most famous one is likely the yearly event hosted by Keymash[0]. Octahedron is also a famous player in the scene. He hosts a Discord server for proficient typists and... - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago

  • Is stop on error (letter) cheating?
I believe that the much better option is stop on word which makes Monkeytype behave like Typeracer or Keymash in that you have to use Backspace or Ctrl+Backspace to correct your mistakes before progressing to the next word. Funnily enough, that's also how stuff works in the real world outside of typing websites. Source: 11 months ago
  • What websites are best for getting better at typing?
There are sites that will let you "race" directly against one or more other people whilst typing quotes or random words like play.typeracer.com nitrotype.com or keymash.io. Source: 12 months ago

  • How much practicing is ideal? What is your routine?
It can't tell the difference between me practicing on Klavaro, or problemwords.com or typelit.io or any other typing website. It's just typing words over and over again. Consider that the 100 most common words in the English language make up approximately 50% of all words that have ever been written and you start to understand what I mean by repetition. • They're not "digital natives," they're "click natives."
Type racer and https://typelit.io/ were the ones I used with both groups. Source: almost 1 year ago
