The key difference here being that this is two way hashing so passwords can be decrypted. In reality, there are a lot of attack vectors like MITM, event logging or sometimes straight up storing data in plaintext. Through these hackers can generally get passwords of all users of these services. So, why don't people use local password managers? Anyone else having problems doing a simple password reset on swagbucks.com ? Should be dirt simple right? At the swagbucks.com login portal, put in your email address or swagbucks ID, then hit forgot your password. I do get password reset emails after a few hours, but the password reset link in them just takes me to the main swagbucks login page, not a password reset page, not a security or account confirmation... I've had trouble with the "Discover Daily Interests" (2SB) loading correctly for the last month. I submitted a ticket and haven't heard anything. Cleared all browser history, restarted browser, restarted computer. Popup blocker is off and nearly all permissions given to swagbucks.com. Source: about 3 years ago
