Try some of the apps like kayak.com and expedia. I've seen hotels for about $29 on there. Some motels even do a weekly rate of something like $100 for the entire 7 days. Source: about 1 year ago
Have you tried sixt.com or kayak.com? Source: about 1 year ago

Consider taking a trip in a rental, like outdoorsy.com to see how your family does in a given RV. Sure it is expensive, but could save you from dropping over $100k on a machine you need to maintain and store and regret having. Source: 11 months ago
Outdoorsy.com, or craigslist... Prob is going to be the miles. How about a U haul van, just say you are moving across the country... Seeing all the parks might be a stretch on that budget. Consider doing 1-2 regions, like the west/southwest.. Midwest/south. Less miles and you will see plenty. Frankly, the driving from monument to monument sucks... like sucks for days... There are camper van rental places similar to Airbnb, like outdoorsy.com or RVshare.com. Outdoorsy offers discounts for 7+ days or 30+ days. You could fly to your start point and have the RV waiting for you at the airport. Source: over 1 year ago
