However, many game developers do report that Unreal Engine is better suited for larger projects and projects you intend to work on as a team. Additionally, as the program is heavy on the graphics end, many people will find it requires a more powerful computer compared to other engines like Unity. Beyond this, it is also noteworthy that while Unreal Engine can create 2D games...
The Best Gaming Engines You Should Consider for 2023
2022 saw the official launch of Unreal Engine 5, and it’s already shaping up to be a game changer for game development. Most next-gen consoles, including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are already using it, and its powerful tools such as Lumen and Nanite (an engine that imports high-detailed photographic source material – taking advantage of its past acquisition of Quixel)...
What Are the Best Game Engines?
Unity makes game development more accessible, with notable screen reader support. You can use Unity to develop games across platforms. It was originally launched for MacOS, but now supports more than 25 platforms. Like Unreal Engine, Unity is now used in industries beyond game development, including architecture.

  • What’s your target demographic, what type of game are you making, and how are you designing aspects of the game for that demographic?
I design everything on paper, then use Krita to draw the assets. I am learning how to use Juice FX to make some simple animations for the game, too. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • What are some lesser known specific gamedev tools?
I really like JuiceFX from CodeManu, awesome little tool to add a bunch of basic animations to sprites. I am not great at art and my current project is still very early, but even with my stupidly simple sprites, adding some animations makes it feel way closer. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • The dinosaurs got a rock, you get ME
Most likely https://codemanu.itch.io/particle-fx-designer and https://codemanu.itch.io/juicefx :). Source: about 2 years ago
  • How were these undertale death animations made? I searched a lot and didn't find anything that came close.
You could probably get away with using something like https://codemanu.itch.io/juicefx to generate the explosion then you just use that sprite. Source: over 2 years ago
  • I'm looking for a sprite sheet generator, which rotates a specified image through a range of specified degrees and saves all these images into a single image file.
I think Juice FX might work for this. Not quite as easy as how you describe, but also much more powerful than just rotating. That said, unless you’re trying to do pixel perfect rotations, probably best to do it in engine as others have said. Source: over 2 years ago
