When I click on https://synapsemedia.io/ I get redirected to a link like https://ipfs.io/ipns/synapsemedia.io (to use ipfs.io instead of my local node). Source: about 1 year ago

In case of you don't trust them, it gets harder. Especially if you need to have it hosted without any trace to yourself. I'd probably pay a service to store my data on ipfs. You can pay with crypto. But I'm this case there's the question, how will you be able to access it. My thought would be to have a [tails][tails] USB with the necessary software. Source: over 1 year ago

I never click GET button, don't even know what it does tbh XD Those four buttons are for choosing which IPFS gateway you want to use. By default I use ipfs.io, if ipfs.io is down then I click the Cloudflare one. General rule is that you pick one gateway if it does not work then another one and so on. Source: over 1 year ago
This sounds similar to what Revolut and other fintech companies ask to do for identity verification (selfie and photo of id). There is also Stripe Identity [0], which costs $1.50 per validation. Are there other cheaper or similar reputable services to this one? [0] https://stripe.com/identity. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
Not 100% sure but I assume (C) is referring to 3rd party identity verification services like what Stripe and many others provide. https://stripe.com/identity. Source: about 1 year ago
Yeah, but wouldn't adding identity/age verification solve the issue? If I recall correctly, they use Stripe for payments (at least in the web version), and Stripe provides strong identity verification (https://stripe.com/identity). So I don't see the need for such a drastic change. But maybe I'm missing something. Source: over 1 year ago
Some of this is about increasing friction, not collecting flawless info. Is it possible to fool Stripe Identity (https://stripe.com/identity) repeatedly? Probably. But it’s a pain to make new fake docs (or switch carriers) every time an account is flagged. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
There’s no easier way to verify identities than Stripe Identity. It lets you programmatically confirm the identity of users around the globe by scanning an image of an official form of ID, so you can prevent attacks from fraudsters while minimizing friction for legitimate payments. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
