If there's no sale on now, and I think it just ended, wait. IL-2 gets really, really steep discounts when it goes on sale, and that happens several times per year. Wishlist it on Steam or something, so you'll get a notification when it's cheap. What pisses me off is this game is getting this kind of attention because the developers are Russian but games that are already doing this and are definitely sending dollars back to Russia like https://il2sturmovik.com/ who's CEO is well known throughout his own community as being an asshole (he claps back at bad reviews for his game on steam) yet it seems like no one's really mad about them.
