If this is "Visual Studio for Mac" then I think you're out of luck, as far as I can tell VS does not support C/C++ on Mac according to https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/vs/mac/ (VS supports C via its C++ compiler, MSVC, which is not ported to Mac).
