  Homeadvisor.com will let you describe the work you want to do and then contractors will respond. I've had decent luck with this for the smaller, specific jobs. Just be prepared, they often start calling you IMMEDIATELY, so don't submit the request unless you're prepared to spend the next 30 minutes or so talking to the contracting companies.   Check livingsocial.com but always read reviews. Memberships to stuff are nice, I did a zoo membership and an aquarium membership with my wife a couple years. The aquarium was very nice at the time because she worked in Peachtree center, so I surprised her getting off work a number of days and we walked there after. Source: over 1 year ago
